Hastings Borough Council has put out this warning on its Facebook page:
"Council tax fraud
A company may call and try to convince you to pay £150 to lower your banding for council tax. Other councils have also reported this fraud. The phone number, if you are contacted, is 08080646333."
Be warned, just in time for Christmas!
