Not so good news...
Sewage monitors are faulty, or have not been installed, at many seaside resorts in England and Wales and raw sewage has been pumped into the sea, indeed Sussex beaches are without monitors, and figures show that "every beach between Brighton and Hastings has been marred by waste" (Guardian). Going into the water risks swimming in raw sewage without any warning... I'd advise, don't do it!
