Marina St Leonards Beach has retained its status from last year and again been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag status of the Quality Coasts Awards by Keep Britain Tidy, and their Seaside Award. Pelham Beach has also retained the Seaside Award. Aaron Woods, resort manager for Hastings Borough Council, said “This is the second year in a row that Marina beach has been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag, a fantastic result for Hastings and it reflects the hard work and commitment given by the council and other partners to make this happen."
The Quality Coast Award is managed by Keep Britain Tidy and rewards English beaches that are maintained to high standards. This initiative provides access to funding and a framework to plan future improvements (website).
