There's voting for East Sussex County Council councillors on the 4th of May... if you're not already on the register to vote, do register, eg online, see Government website; then exercise your right to vote, similarly, if you are on the electoral register, do vote!

More election results for Hastings!

I waited for the Police and Crime Commissioner for Sussex to be announced, who is the sitting incumbent, Katy Bourne, Conservative, with a 22.5% turn-out, up 7.2% on 2012.

Also, there was another by-election held in Hastings yesterday, for the St Helens & Silverhill seat on East Sussex County Council, again following the sad death of Councillor John Hodges, and which was won by Labour's Judy Rogers with 1,441 votes; 2nd Conservatives 1,253; 3rd Greens 214; last Lib Dems 212.

VOTE TODAY!

Today we have the opportunity, not to just moan to our colleagues, family and friends, but to vote in councillors, and the Police & Crime Commissioner for the Sussex Police Area, so we can then put our concerns to them, rather than just winge...

Vote today, I certainly shall, as I always do!

Dog Mess - Meeting with Councillors

A little birdie (quite a few of them talk to me) has told me that there will be a meeting with local councillors on Monday evening, 6-8pm, at the Plough up on the West Hill. I believe that the councillors concerned represent Castle Ward, but others may be present too. Whatever, it will allow residents to bring up their concerns about dog mess on pavements and the seafront, and other issues regarding litter could well be discussed too...

The Plough Inn

So, either write to your Hastings Borough councillors, or turn up for 18.00 to 20.00 hours, Monday 29th February 2016, at The Plough Inn, 49 Priory Road TN34 3JJ, a chance to influence policy regarding fouling and litter in Hastings!
